July 2016 Wrap Up

I had a great reading month. I read some amazing books, and some not so great. I participated in 2 read a thons. It was so much fun. I want to participate in more in the future. I read total of 8 books. That is really good for me. It is probably a new personal record.

Illuminae by Amie Kayfman & Jay Kristoff

A science fiction book in space. With a creative side to it. The book is written in interviews, logs, chat messages etc +++

I really loved this book. I gave it 5 stars. I really loved the story and the way it was written. This is now one of my favorite books of all time. It was so good.

A fantasy story about a girl that can shape-shifting to a dragon.

The wide window by Lemony Snicket

Book 3 in A Series of Unfortunate Events. A children’s book series.

I love this book series. I listened to the audio book. I found it really relaxing. But the book is also thrilling. I really want to read the next books in the series, to find out what happens to the children. And what count Olav will do next.

More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera 

A contemporary YA book about a boy and his struggles. And about him figuring out that he is gay.

This book was so sad. One of the saddest books I have ever read. This story is heartbreaking. I loved this book. I loved the story and the characters.

Zenith By Sasha Alsberg & Lindsay Cummings

A science fiction book about a group of space pirates that are all girls.

I gave this book 2 stars. The book was too short. I had some problems with this book. But I didn’t hate it. But I didn’t really like it either. I really like the concept of the story. I hope it gets better in the next part of the story.

The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski 

This is an YA fantasy book.

I listened to an audio audiobook of this book. I could not stop listening to it. I had to find out what happened next in the story. There is a lot of politics and intrigues in the book. But I don’t know if I like the romance part yet. I’m currently listening to book 2 in the series.

Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice 

A story about a vampire and his life.

I found this book really boring. The store itself was okay.

Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

This is a coming out story. Simon is emailing with this mysterious boy blue. He is the only one that knows he is gay.

A beautiful and fun read. I really liked this book. It made me smile many times. And I got butterflies in my stomach while reading it.
