October Currently Reading & To Be Read

The month of October is here, and that means Halloween and spooky stuff everywhere. I normally don’t read thrillers or horror. But this month I think I’m going to read a thriller and some mild creepy books. I don’t like very scary things because I’m a wimp. I’m also going to finish some books that I started reading last month.

Currently reading:

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K Rowling

Book 4 in the Harry Potter series

I didn’t read the 3 chapters every day like I planned to do. I got halfway through and then stopped reading. I’m planning to finish it this month. I had forgotten how funny this book is. Omg that Uranus joke hahaha.

The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch

Book 1 in the Gentleman Bastard series

This is the audiobook I’m listening to at the moment. I always have one audiobook that I’m listening to. I’m half way through this book. And it is so good. I think this will be one of my favorite books of all time.

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

Book 1 in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series

Finally started to read this series. I’m over halfway through this book. This is a quick read and I’m liking it so far.

Want to Read:

I’m planning on participating in the Spookaton that starts October 17 and ends October 23. I will publish a list of what I want to read for the Spookaton later in the month.

Hollow City & Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs

Book 2 & 3 in the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children trilogy

I really want to read this series this month. These books are a little bit creepy and as scary as I can handle. I think it is the pictures in the book that makes the book extra creepy. I gave the first book 3,5 stars. I read it last year. Now is the time to finish the series.

The Sea of Monster by Rick Riordan

Book 2 in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series

I really want to continue with this series.

-What are you planning on reading this month? And do you have a good thriller recommendation?

  1. I’m glad I’m not the only one who can’t handle scary books, I can’t even read the stories on the ‘No Sleep’ subreddit. I had nightmares for days after reading a few particularly horrifying ones.

I hope to read at least one book this month – Howl’s Moving Castle – it would help if I actually found a copy first haha.

    Thanks for sharing your list!

  2. The Percy Jackson Series is great. I’ve recently finished the hero of olympus series and really miss it.
I really need to read Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.
