Books That Took You the Longest to Finish
These are the books that you had on your nightstand “in progress” for months or years. The books that you took weeks to read because they put you in a slump. Those books that were an uphill battle. These are books you started and actually read, not books you’ve just had on your shelf the longest.
Sapiens A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari
I started this book in the beginning of the year. It is a nonfiction History book. This book is really interesting and I love the topic. I stopped reading halfway through this book because I wanted to take a break from it to read fiction books. My plan was to pick it up again shortly, but that didn’t happen. I need to continue with this book. It is so fascinating.
The Good Girl by Mary Kubica
This book was in my currently reading for months. I tried and tried to finish it. I ended up DNF it because I didn’t like it.
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
This took me 3-4 months to read. I couldn’t read it coherently. I had to break it up and read it in between other books.
My True Love Gave to Me: Twelve Holiday Stories
I got this for Christmas two years ago. I read half of the short stories that Christmas, and the rest of the stories the Christmas after. It kind of was on my currently reading shelves for a whole year.
Same thing happened to me with Outlander. It was quite an undertaking!

Yeah. I don’t think I will ever get through the whole series in my life.

I zipped through the first Outlander and then slowed way down and by the last couple was sort of just skimming. Great choices!

Thanks. I’m not sure I will ever finish all the books in that series.

If not for skimming I might not have either 🙁

I really need to get to Outlander, I’m Scottish, there’s so few Scottish books out there, I’m sure I’m destined to read it. It’s just never on my radar until someone brings it up then it disappears in my mountainous TBR.

Yeah you need to read it if you are Scottish 🙂 Now I want to visit the Scottish highlands. From the pictures on google it looks beautiful.

It’s an incredibly beautiful country. I always feel spoiled whenever I travel or people ohh and Ahhhh at it. The weather sucks but we can’t have everything and we wouldn’t have it without the rain

Yeah the rain sucks. It is the same where I live. In Norway. We are famous for our fjords and mountains.

I really need to venture out there. My boyfriend adores Scandinavian culture
