Inaccurate Book Covers
–Those books that have nothing to do with the story, or the cover model doesn’t look anything like the actual main character, or it’s a really cheesy cover for a great read!
These points and criticism don’t have anything to do with my thoughts on the stories in the books.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling & John Tiffany & Jack Thorne
I don’t understand this cover at all and I think it is really ugly. Someone please explain. It is sad because it has so much potential for an awesome cover.
Speaker of the Dead by Orson Scott Card
When I was reading this book I was very confused about the cover. The building on the cover is not in the book, and it don’t have anything to do with the story. I feel like they chose that picture only because it looked cool and sci-fi.
Divergent by Veronica Roth
I don’t understand the book covers of the Divergent series. I understand that they are supposed to symbolize the factions or something from the story. To be honest I don’t really like the covers of the whole trilogy, especially book 2 and 3.
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
This book cover doesn’t say anything about the story. Do you think about a dystopian world where loving other is a disease and illegal when you see these covers? No!
-Which books did you choose for this week’s T5W?
I saw that they redid the covers for Lauren Oliver! I did the Divergent by Veronica Roth too on my list. Great minds thinks alike.

They have? I have to check them out now . Yeah I don’t like the covers on the Divergent series. Good to know I’m not the only one hehe.

Yeah, to be honest, I like the remake ones better.

Which is the new one? They have had so many different covers. Is it the one that looks like a broken heart?

Yes, it is! 🙂 with the green cover.

Yeah it symbolizes it better than the cover with the face.

There are times when I hate new covers but there are times when it’s needed! In this case, it’s needed. 🙂

Yeah that is true. I don’t understand when they choose to change beautiful covers. And sometimes the new covers are ugly.

Good example, The Winner’s Kiss. They revealed the cover but it was not like first two AND it looks so much like Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series and now they’re releasing those covers as paperbacks.

I didn’t know they had changed the covers. I liked the old one. They are beautiful IMO. And fit the books much better.

Yeah, fans protested the change so the publisher changed the cover to match the first two and will release the paperbacks with other cover that fan protested.

Ok. I understand the protest for the new covers haha. Have you read the series?

No. It’s on my planned “to be read” series list for 2017. 🙂

I agree with you on Delirium and I have also included it on my list. It’s just a close-up of a girl’s face giving a reader no idea about what’s inside this book.

Yeah. I would never guess that it is a dystopian if I didn’t know about the series. Great picks on your list 🙂

I feel like the Divergent covers are supposed to symbolize something more than the factions, but they don’t really work well at all!
LikeLike
Yeah. I think it would be better to have the different factions on the covers. What do you think they symbolize?

The world beyond the factions.
