Top 5 Wednesday is created by Gingerreadslainey. Each week there is a new bookish topic, where everyone can join and create their top 5 list. You can find more information on the Top 5 Wednesday goodreads group. This week’s topic is:
Inaccurate Book Covers
–Those books that have nothing to do with the story, or the cover model doesn’t look anything like the actual main character, or it’s a really cheesy cover for a great read!
These points and criticism don’t have anything to do with my thoughts on the stories in the books.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling & John Tiffany & Jack Thorne
I don’t understand this cover at all and I think it is really ugly. Someone please explain. It is sad because it has so much potential for an awesome cover.
Speaker of the Dead by Orson Scott Card
When I was reading this book I was very confused about the cover. The building on the cover is not in the book, and it don’t have anything to do with the story. I feel like they chose that picture only because it looked cool and sci-fi.
Divergent by Veronica Roth
I don’t understand the book covers of the Divergent series. I understand that they are supposed to symbolize the factions or something from the story. To be honest I don’t really like the covers of the whole trilogy, especially book 2 and 3.
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
This book cover doesn’t say anything about the story. Do you think about a dystopian world where loving other is a disease and illegal when you see these covers? No!
