This month started out really well, I read a lot and posted 3-4 posts to my blog every week. I also participated in the Biannual Bibliothon Winter 2017 Readathon, and had a lot of fun with that. Halfway through the month I started not feeling well. I didn’t have the energy to post anything on my blog or read books, so I had to take a break from everything book and blog related. This is slowly getting better now and I hope I’m back 100% soon. This blog hiatus totally killed my posting plan so I’ll be posting topics in February that should have been out earlier, like: Favorite Reads of 2016, Dystopian Bingo and Reviews.
Over to what I did manage to read in January. I read a total of 4 books, one essay and one book that i DNF. I have read 3 books that fits the Beat The Backlist Challenge.
I read a total of 1621 pages this month.

What I Read
Deadlight Jack by Mark Onspaugh
Book 2 in The Faceless One
FULL REVIEW HERE! I really liked this book. It was fun to read about two men in their 70 fighting supernatural cases. 3.5 stars
We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
This essay is such a great introduction to feminism and it is very easy and quick to read. I recommend everyone to read it. 5 stars
Stalking Jack The Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco
Book 1 in Stalking Jack the Ripper
I love the premise of this book and I had high hopes for it. The story started out really good and exciting, but after a while it got a bit boring. This book was just ok, not great and not terrible either. You can read more of my thoughts about it in my Biannual Bibliothon Wrap Up HERE. 3 stars
Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven
This is now one of my all time favorite Young Adult Contemporaries. I devoured this book, it was so incredible good. I LOVE the character Libby, she is AMAZING! I really connected with her. Jack’s face blindness was interesting to read about as well. I really want to read the author’s other book asap. 4.5 stars
Sense And Sensibility by Jane Austen
This is my second try to read a Jane Austen book. I DNF this book at 30%. I found the book to be really boring, it just didn’t grab me. I want to like it because it is a well known classic, but I just don’t find it fun to read. 1.5 stars
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
I love Marissa Meyers other series The Lunar Chronicles, so I highly anticipated this book. This book is a fun read, I really love the Alice in wonderland world and some parts of the story. I also really love her writing. I just didn’t cared for the romance. If you like ya romance book with fantasy elements, and you are interested in another story set in the Alice world I highly recommend this book. 4 stars
Books I didn’t manage to finish in January: Morning Star 28% read – The Republic Of Thieves 80% – Final Girls 16% read

I’m glad you are starting to get better! I read Jennifer Niven’s other book last year and loved it even more than I loved Holding Up the Universe so I am sure you will love it!
