Sunday: Sunday Weekly Update #1
I have only been taking it easy today, because yesterday I had a really bad stomach ache that took away all of my energy. Earlier today I checked on the plants that I’m growing. Some of the seeds that I planted last week have already sprouted, yay. Two of the old ones that I planted a while back wouldn’t sprout, so they went in the trash. I planted some new seeds, this time I planted Ruccola and another salat type. I have also been working on a blog post that was supposed to be posted today, but I failed because it took a lot longer to write than I anticipated. I will post it later this week. Before bed I read 50 pages in Shatter Me and a few pages in The Book of Strange New Things. I’m not loving Shatter Me so far, but I’m really loving the other book.
I didn’t do much today, other than my weekly appointment. In the evening I didn’t read anything, because I wanted to spend time with my BF and watch Twin Peaks. I forgot to mention one fun thing that happened today. My uncle has taken a MyHeritage DNA test, and today he got the answers. So on my mom’s side I’m 84% Scandinavian (Norwegian and Swedish), 15% British/Irish, and 0.8% Somali. Wonder where we get out dark hair from, because traditionally Scandinavian people have lighter hair (mom has black hair).
Today my mom and I went shopping to the largest mall in our city. I bought some new clothes and some makeup. I haven’t used makeup in 5 years (since I got ill). I have played around with the makeup all evening. It was really fun, even though the eyeshadow looked horrendous. Rakel don’t try to do a smokey eye ever again, lol. I didn’t read anything today besides my audiobook. I think I might be in a small reading slump.
Today I had an appointment in town. Before the appointment, I put on some makeup and it looked way better than yesterday. Thank god that I didn’t try a smoky eye again, haha. It was only a simple makeup look. I only used foundation, mascara, eyebrow pencil, bronzer and some blush. I also wore a dress that I bought yesterday, I felt really nice and not so shabby like I usually feel. After the appointment I met my mom and my aunt at a cafe. In the evening I read for a couple of hours. I’m now on page 182 in Shatter Me, and the book is actually starting to grow on me. I also read in The Book of Strange New Things, still loving the book, and I’m on page 246.
I cleaned out some old stuff that was just lying and taking up space in some drawers in my room. After figuring out what I wanted to keep and what to trash, I organized it into different sections. One drawer for makeup, one for other products and one for hair related things. I’m not 100% done, but it is so much better. After dinner I replanted my herbs that have sprouted into some stone looking “dirt” (so bad at explaining this, I’m not a pro if you haven’t figured that out, haha). In the evening I haven’t done anything other than taking a bath and watching Youtube. I’m also starting to do my TBR for the Tome Topple Readathon. Before bed I read a little bit in Shatter Me.
Today I have been at one of my best friends Fredrik’s home party. It was so much fun. It was the first party I have been to with a lot of alcohol and music, and people I don’t know, since I got ill. This was a huge milestone, and now I’m really seeing that things are getting better. Before the party I didn’t do much, only relaxed and did my makeup and listened my audiobook.
Today I’m just going to take it easy, because of yesterday. Right now I’m sitting on the patio writing this post and drinking some coffee. The weather outside is beautiful today, and it really feels like spring.
