Vacation TBR – The Books I’m Taking With Me On Vacation

I’m leaving for Croatia on Saturday. I’m so excited for my first vacation in many years. I have struggled with an illness called ME/CFS for the last 5 years, and been very ill. The last year and a half I have been slowly getting better. I’m far from “normal”, but it is a huge step from how it used to be. This vacation is going to be a big milestone in my recovery, and I’m really looking forward to the trip. I’m also very anxious, but I will not let that stop me.

Ok so over to this post, I want to tell you about the books I’m taking with me to Croatia. I narrowed it down to 3 books. I don’t think I will be reading more than 3 books, and if I do I have my Kindle and audiobooks. My criteria was: not too long, easy to read, paperback and that I already owns it. A lot of the books I owned didn’t make my criteria, but I found some that did.

The Titan’s Curse & The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan

Book 3 and 4 in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series

It’s been a while since I read book 1 and 2, it was some time last year. I have been wanting to pick the series up again, and finish it this year. Since it is a middle grade series, it’s fast paced and easy to read. It’s perfect to read by the pool because I don’t have to focus on the book too much while reading. The books also fits all my criteria.

The Girls by Emma Cline

This book sounds really interesting, so I thought it would be fun to take with me on the vacation. I hope it is an easy read and not too slow. The book is only 355 pages, so it fits all my criteria.

That was all of the physical books I’m taking with me to Croatia. I might have to take with me the book I’m currently reading, if I don’t finish it before I leave. The one extra book will be Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi, I hope to finish it before though. I’m also taking with me some audiobooks that I have downloaded on my phone.

I have downloaded:

1. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter #5) by J.K. Rowling

2. Kaninjegeren (Joona Linna, #6) by Lars Kepler (The Rabbit Hunter)

3. Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy

I’m not going to list books from my Kindle.

What do you think of my TBR? Which books would you take with you on a vacation?

Friday: Update: I’m Back, 1 Year Blogoversary, Norway Trip, Celebrating 17th of May

Last weekend my dad’s brewery hosted a two day beer festival. Breweries from all over the world was there to promote their beer, and a lot of people came to drink and have a fun time. In my opinion it was a big success. I attended the festival both days. It was so much fun, even though I don’t drink. It was also very exhausting and I payed for it this week.

20170604_183719IMG_20170527_221217_595Day one my BF was there drinking with some friends. It was the first time I met some of them and they were some really nice guys. The second day my BF had to work at the festival, so I was with my family. Two of my uncles, my aunt and my cousin, and some of my uncle’s friends came from far away to attend the festival. I sat with the guys the whole day. They were funny, and one of them danced really crazy in front of everybody when the band was playing, haha. His moves was out of this world. I want to post a video, but I don’t think I can do that.

The rest of the weekdays I didn’t do anything special. I have started writing for my blog again after a month’s pause. It is good to finally be back again.

I have struggled with stomach ache and I have been nauseous almost every day lately. Maybe I’m pregnant! Haha no that was a joke, I’m not pregnant. I don’t know what to do about it though, I think it might be stress related.

My BF’s birthday was on Tuesday. Happy birthday <3. Unfortunately my stomach was really bad that day so all I manage to do was to force myself to bake him a cake. So all we did that day was to order pizza and eat cake, and watched Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones is really good, why haven’t we watched it sooner?

Parenthood, the new Sims 4 game pack, came out the same day as his birthday. I have been playing it all week. The pack is fun and adds a lot of gameplay and interactions to the game.

Downloaded a house on the gallery for my family that has 2 toddlers and a baby. They moved from San Myshuno into this old Victorian house. The interior is changed, but not 100% finished because they don’t have anymore money.

Lately I have bought a lot of new clothes and things. 3 new dresses, tops, a skirt and a shirt ++, and some new makeup. I’m really happy with my purchases, especially the dresses. I found a style of dresses that I really like. One thing that is kind of funny is that almost all of the clothes I have bought lately are black. I will always be the emo kid at heart, haha. I also bought the new special editions of the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone book, in the Ravenclaw style. They are so beautiful, I want them all.

On Saturday I went out to a concert. It was one of my best friend’s band. The band is called Konger og Keisere, and they play Norwegian rock. They have just released their new EP LIV. Go check them out HERE. I had a blast at the concert.

Naturally I’m tired after the weekend and the concert. I’m so blessed that  I have been able to do so many fun thing lately. I couldn’t dream of doing this last year, and I’m really happy that my health is going in the right direction.

My Book Year 2016 – All The Books I Read In 2016

It is the end of the year, and time for a recap of all the books I read in 2016. I read a total of 53 books. I can’t believe I read over 50 books this year, that is a lot for me. In the beginning of the year I put 40 books on my Goodreads challenge, but halfway through the year I was so much ahead of my goal that I changed it to 50 books. I read some long books, and some short books. I read some really great books, and some not so great books. I’m really happy and satisfied with my reading year.

-Which Books Do You Want To Read In 2017?

Dashing Through The Snow Book TAG

Christmas is right around the corner. To make my blog a little more festive and to get into the Christmas spirit here is a Christmas themed TAG.

All the Books On My Christmas Wish List post.

giphy (1).gif

I planning to finish reading 12 Days of Dash And Lily by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan, and Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire by J.K. Rowling.

I don’t really like Christmas movies. Is that weird? I watched The Rise of the Guardians one night when I couldn’t sleep, it was pretty good.

But there is one movie i watch every year, and that is Tre Nøtter Til Askepott. I’m going to talk more about this movie later in the TAG.

I love snow around Christmas and I think it is beautiful to look at, but I don’t like the cold and slippery roads that comes with it. Snow isn’t something really special when you live in Norway.

giphy (4).gif

I want The Doctor to take me out on an amazing Christmas themed adventure, like in the Dr Who Christmas special episodes.

giphy (6).gif

Not going to lie, I love getting gifts. But I also love giving gifts, so I have to answer both.

It has to be somewhere magical like Hogwarts or the Weasley’s house.

My fondest Christmas memory is watching Tre Nøtter Til Askepott With my brother every Christmas morning. Watching Tre Nøtter Til Askepott is something a lot of Norwegians has as a tradition. It is kind of weird because Tre Nøtter Til Askepott is a Czech retelling of Cinderella from 1973. It is also badly dubbed by a man and it is always funny to listen to (we don’t dub movies is Norway, we only use subtitles). This tradition is kind of weird, but there is no Christmas without this movie.

You can actually watch the whole movie here:

No I failed
